Room 14 Sports Day and School Tour

Room 14 have been very busy lately! We have recently had our Sports Day and we went to Dublin Zoo on our school tour. We had a guided tour around the African plains and saw lots of animals. We really enjoyed both of our special days!

3rd Class Fishbowls

Ms. Kelly’s 3rd class had great fun making fish bowls from clay.   Everyone is extremely proud of their aquatic creations, which took 3 weeks to complete. Each bowl is approximately 20cm in diameter and 10cm tall.

Sit back, relax and enjoy our fish at home in their natural habitat.

Junior Infants School Tour

Junior Infants had a brilliant time when they visited Imaginosity for their school tour on Monday, 13th of June. Unfortunately with the heavy rain, the boys and girls didn't get to have their picnic in Marley Park but as you can see from the video they still had lots of fun and really enjoyed their first school tour!

5th Class write their own storybooks

This term Ms. O’ Leary’s 5th class decided to write stories for the children in Ms. McManus’ Senior Infants class. The 5th class students started off by asking them some questions so they could make the story personal to the child. The questions included questions about the child’s family, house, favourite superhero and favourite animal and pastime. Then they wrote their first draft before proceeding to typing. After this they went back and read some well -known children’s stories to them. After they had printed out their stories, drew pictures, pasted and glued covers, tightened the findings and finally got ready to read and present them to the. On Thursday 26th of May the 5th class students read their stories to the children who were delighted to have a story written all about them. The books are on display in the school library. We will give them to the Senior Infants to keep and treasure forever!

Bloom in the Park

Ms. Dunne’s class won a trip to Bloom in the Park on Thursday 2nd June. We had a fantastic day! We took part in gardening activities, visited polytunnels, planted fruit, looked at cheese production in the farmyard, saw a beehive, and took a tour of the vegetable and herb growing area. We also got some ideas for new projects for our school garden. We also listened to talks from farmers and producers and saw some award winning show gardens. We even met the president and visited RTE! We are continuing to grow our vegetables from the Incredible Edibles and are keener than ever to harvest our produce.
